Collecting a couple things I put together a while ago in this post. Prompted by Brett White I got thinking about my 5 favorite X-Men, a team that got me back into comics in high school. So I threw this together from older drawings, a few of them as old as 3 years (Nightcrawler).
Not long after I thought I might try the same thing with The Avengers. Note that a certain blue guy shows up on both lists, because you can't spell Beast without "best".
I'm not going to do another though. Can't think of another team that I'd want to do this with and there's too much work to do anyway. Still, it's a fun distraction.

So some of you may have noticed that the site was down for the last week or so. At some point I let my domain name lapse, and rather than deal with the headache of trying to get it back I went ahead and changed the address. If you're reading this right now that means you're currently at www.docshaner.com. New address, same ol' look and smell. And just so I don't leave you without a drawing, here's a quick Popeye from yesterday.
So go ahead and update your links, and thanks for hanging in there!

Here's something I cooked up right before my fill-in issues for IDW's Ghostbusters were announced. I had been thinking this might be a fun thing to update as other projects are announced. Like an advent calendar except there's no chocolate. I'm posting it today because, at least for the time being, I won't be posting any more of the warm-up sketches. There's too much work to do and I have a bad habit of letting myself get distracted with them. So for now, this will sit at the top of the site until the next gigs are announced. I'm very excited about what's coming up this year and hope you are too. I will still post progress shots from work on my tumblr page from time to time, if that sort of thing interests you.
And a quick note-- this isn't necessarily how Venkman will look in the issues of Ghostbusters I'm drawing. I'm still working on the best way to approach the book so it doesn't scare off the regular readers.
Anyway, thanks for checking in everybody!
